Wood and Willow Harvest Day

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration and Educational Services LLC 16534 Dead Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

Calling all volunteers! Come fall in love with this season of Vesper Meadow.

All are welcome to tour the creek restoration area, now 6 years in the making! This is going to be a big day of preparation for October’s annual beaver-based restoration structure building. We will harvest conifer bows and willow stakes, and plant willows along headwater creeks of the Rogue River using restoration techniques to restore the creek channel previously eroded by grazing and down-cutting associated with lack of vegetation. We will create live gully-breaks and diverse creek features - a fun and easy way to participate as a land steward. All are welcome, recommended for ages 12 and up.

We will be walking over generally flat but uneven terrain, carrying willow stakes 4 - 7 ft in length and using loppers.

Bring layers of clothing, waders or waterproof boots, water, snacks and lunch.

Please RSVP to hold your spot and for final details one week in advance of the event:
